Central Railroad Trail Overview
The Northern
Central Railroad Trail is a 22 mile rail trail located in
Ashland, Maryland near Hunt Valley and extends north to the
Pennsylvania-Maryland border (The Mason-Dixon Line) and connects
to the York County
Heritage Trail. Combined these trails create a superb
41 mile trail with much scenery and nature.
The Northern
Central Railroad Trail is composed of crushed stone and is
10 feet wide and follows the Gunpowder Falls River most of
its length.
The Northern
Central Railroad Trail has only one stop for supplies at mile
8 in Monkton. Once inside Pennsylvania on the York County
Heritage Trail, there are stops every few miles.
